With a new year and a birthday behind me, I’ve been on a quest to indulge in new experiences, engage in richer conversations, and jump into new hobbies. For years, I’ve collected various ideas and recipes on social media to perfectly pin ideas to my Pinterest boards, all to allow life to pass me by and not partake in anything. This year, I’ve made it my business to indulge in all things (big or small) that bring me joy.
Plants have such a relaxing effect on me, but I’ve always been scared to dive in and truly try again because I haven’t had the best luck with keeping them alive. But this year is different. This year, I’m giving myself permission to start again—without the fear of failure. There’s something incredibly peaceful about being surrounded by greenery, watching a new leaf unfurl, or noticing tiny roots stretching toward the soil. Each plant I’ve brought into my home is a symbol of growth, patience, and the simple joys that come from nurturing something. And let me tell you, the joy is real! Watering my plants in the morning, rearranging them to find the perfect light, and even whispering a few encouraging words (yes, I’ve become that person) has been such a grounding experience.
As I lean into this new hobby, I’ve found that comfort is key—not just in my mindset but in what I wear. My adidas outfits have been a staple for workout gear, like my workout shoes or carrying gear in my backpack, but there’s something perfect about the loungewear that has been my go-to for cozy plant care sessions, making it easy to move around, repot a plant, or just sit back and admire my little indoor jungle. Whether I’m in my favorite relaxed joggers or an oversized hoodie, I’m embracing the beauty of slow moments at home. This journey is about more than just plants; it’s about allowing myself to find joy in the simple things, and I’m so excited to see where this new passion takes me.
