A Look Into: My Bedroom

Last August, our family moved into a new home and we are still happy with our decision. We’ve slowly been working on fixture updates, plans for landscaping, ideas for add ons, and of course, painting! When I first toured the home last summer, I knew it was the one. It was perfectly laid out, I fell in love with the space, and they did an amazing job redesigning the kitchen. However…my least favorite place was the master bedroom! Let me explain.

The room has a ton of room, a full sitting area, and more of an open plan into the bathroom. The paint colors, designs, and carpeting, not so much. The walls were a cream/mustard yellow combo. At minimum, we would have to get that entire room & bathroom painted & get new carpeting. We have made some great progress so far, but today I’m just sharing the master bedroom area. Here’s how it turned out.

Our color palette is very dark, cool colors, but blends well with our furniture & look we’re eventually going for. Here are some ideas I used for inspiration:

My goal is to make my entire house feel like a chic hotel. I want beautiful, bold colors, textures, patterns, fun pieces, and all of the elements which reflects our personality. At first I was a little nervous that the color would be too dark, but the room looks like a completely transformed space & it looks amazing! I definitely have a long way to go, but perfection takes time! 😉
