In a world that’s already noisy, harmful, and stressful, one of my ultimate goals is to have a home that is a safe & healthy place to live & thrive. Whenever we step outside of our homes, we’re bombarded by germs, pollution, potential hazards, and whatever else. So when I come home, it should be a place of rest, comfort, and health. After a little researching I did in my home one day, I realized my home was filled with some unhealthy products that were filled with toxins & hormone-altering agents. This I had to change!

As I dive deeper into the world of essential oils and how many benefits they provide, the more I learn about living a chemical-free life in all facets of life. To begin the process, I downloaded the “Think Dirty” app to tell just how “dirty” the products in my home really were. The lower the rating on the dirty meter, the better. The higher, up to 10, the dirtier the product. Here’s a look at one product I’ve been using most of the year.

On the meter, this product rated high for carcinogenicity, developmental & reproductive toxicity, & allergies & immunotoxicities. Yeah. All of that. Then it shows a list of the ingredients and how those rate on the dirty meet After that one, I scanned another products after another product and before I knew it, I had well over 15 products with 9 & 10 ratings with ingredients that will make a spelling bee champ tap out. After I looked at pretty much half of my bathroom on the floor headed for the trash can, I decided to make a huge change.

The great thing about this app is that it shows you comparable items to the one you scanned that you can purchase as a replacement. In a day, I replaced my bodywash, deodorant & face moisturizer & they all have been the best replacements!
