As I inch more towards my goals, here are a few tips that I’m staying true to.

My fitness journey, I would say, has been pretty positive. It has truly opened my eyes to goals that I have for myself and having the courage to reach them. My mindset has changed so much now that I am working with a personal trainer. I actually look forward to going to the gym. It sets the tone of my day and allows me to lay all of the frustrations, fears, worries and whatever is ailing me on the field.

Here are the tips I keep in mind as I transform this body.

The number on the scale does not determine your worth.

You have a completely new body after two babies. The goal is to get this one as in shape and as healthy as possible. Quit wishing for the old body back.

Yes, it’s going to hurt, but you will appreciate yourself for it later.

Do your absolute best. If the trainer asks for 5 more, give 5 more. If he hands you the heaviest weight, do your best with that one.

You will not always win. Your muscles will be tired. You will ache. Whatever you do, do not quit.
