It’s {almost} the most wonderful time of the year, and I’m not talking Christmas. Fall has unofficially began today (Hey, PSL at Starbucks) and its time for my annual list of 11 Things to Do in the Fall.
1. Attend a Fall Festival
Fall is the perfect time to attend a festival of choice. You can get out of the house and celebrate the things that you enjoy and value outside in your coziest number. I, for one, love how Atlanta has so many festival options to choose from each weekend {My personal 3 are here, here, & here}.
2. Update your Décor
I love curling up on the sofa under a soft blanket and soft pillows {like this one}. Add a cozy throw on the arm of your sitting chair, sofa, or on the bed. They can serve as decoration or for functional use for those nights that are a little chillier than normal. Here’s a fantastic throw for only $7.99!
3. Update your Bedding
On top of updating your home’s accessories to match the season, update your bedding, as well. In this case, I’m referring to fabrics. Cooler weather calls for thicker, down comforters and/or warmer sheets.
4. Style your Mantle
I had the chance to update my mantle for the season and it turned out to be so much fun to do! Style with pieces that vary in width and height to add dimension.
5. Host a Grill Out
Yes, summer is almost technically over, but that doesn’t mean you have to put the grill up just yet. Invite friends over and throw items on the grill such as corn, squash and brats. Don’t forget the beer & wine!
6. Make Caramel Apples
Why wait for the carnival to come? Find a yummy recipe for caramel apples to make in your own kitchen for fall. These will be perfect treats for the grill out.
7. Make your own Pumpkin Spice Lattes
Fall is the time when the PSL craze goes into overdrive. Skip all the madness and make your own with just a few simple ingredients. Here’s a great recipe to try.
8. Stock your freezer with meals
Fall is the perfect time to enjoy a hearty, home cooked meal, but sometimes I’m not always in the mood to cook or clean my kitchen. Do a grocery run and add your meals to bags and freeze them until you’re ready to cook. Add to crock pot and let it slow cook while you focus on other things. This is a perfect time to make that homemade chili. Yum! Serve and look like a hero.
9. Update your Scarves & Boot Collection
It’s pretty common to dust off the old boots and scarves from last year. Most wardrobes don’t need an overhaul, just a quick little update. Start with your boots and scarves. Update with velvet, fringe booties, or a cashmere scarf, as an idea.
10. Restock the Bar
I think mojitos are such a delicious drink, but they are just a little too light for cooler weather. Swap out those spritzy drinks for drinks with a more robust flavor, such as bourbon or a rich, red wine. Don’t forget to dress up your bar cart for the season too! Don’t have one? Here’s a spacious bar cart for an incredible price. If you’re more into snazzy design, here’s one that can definitely work.
11. Plan a Grown Up Halloween Party
Skip the club and throw your own ghastly shindig with your closest friends. Serve signature drinks and yummy “scary” bites. Encourage everyone to dress up as their fave superhero or fave childhood character.

Definitely agree with updating your bedding! Bedrooms have got to match the mood and the season. Great blog girl!!
