Well hello, Twenty Thirteen!!! We’re all so excited to see you and I’m even more excited because it’s the 2nd year of anniversary of the launch of Blushing Black! As we embark on this new year with new hopes, new desires, and new dreams, I encourage you to ‘Dream Big’.
It’s a new year so it’s all about getting it done…let’s get down to business!
In early November, I had the chance to catch Oprah’s Lifeclass on OWN and the particular subject was titled ‘Dream Big’. 2012 was truly a year of discovery and learning and growing for me. I discovered what it’s like to wake up with a burning passion to dream big and fulfill that dream. It’s almost to the point of being unable to sleep because you’re bursting on the inside with ideas and excitement. It’s something you can’t turn off. You don’t know where it’s going to come from, but you have faith that something amazing is going to happen for you. I can say that even with even as a simple shift in your paradigm can put you light years ahead of where you are.
As I was watching this program, I realized that same burning desire I had to fulfill this dream was now becoming an after thought. With all the responsibilities to take care of everyday, I started to put that passion on the back burner, only to feel some sort of guilt and emptiness at the end of the day. Then I’m finding (excuses) that justify why it’s more “logical” (that’s what we tell ourselves) to be in touch with reality and not dream. This program was truly an eye-opener for me.
Here are some points shared that can help revive that passion and help you to ‘Dream Big’:
“Your words and thoughts become your destiny”
“Focus on the assets rather than the liabilities”
“Find the courage to believe in yourself. You don’t need other people’s approval”
“What ever you say about yourself after “I am” is what you believe.”
“Your dream should be connected to helping other people than yourself.”
“Do you have the courage to dream big?”
“When you create a vision for your ilfe, doors will open. What you know is what you’ve already seen. Have a vision. A vision that wakes with you, sleeps with you…A vision will pull you forward.”
“If it’s not hard, you’re not dreaming big enough!”
“There ‘s no sin in failing, but sin in not trying.”
“Be thankful for where you are. Be grateful for what’s right rather than complaining about what’s wrong.”
“People suffer when they pursue a life or chase a dream that doesn’t belong to them. There’s particular place for you.”
“Believe and not worry. It takes the same energy to believe as it does to worry. Channel the eneregy in the right direction.”
“You have to come to your closed doors before you can get to your open doors.”
