Since Pinterest launched, the world has been clamoring over the fact of bringing all of the beautiful images of the internet and organizing them for later use. If you’re an extreme pinner like myself, you’ll know you tend to get “pinning happy” and never take the time to actually go back to see if that recipe tastes as good as the caption claimed or if that makeup trick looks the same on you. I’m guilty of it.

Nevertheless, I have taken out the time to try a variation of tips and tricks I’ve found on Pinterest that I not only continue to use today, but they actually work!

Here are some of the things I’ve tried:

Avoiding massive spills when traveling

Traveling is already a full-time job in itself. Leaving on time to beat traffic, parking the car, getting checked in, and let’s not get into Security, which gives me hives just thinking about it. So when you arrive, the last thing you need is everything you’ve packed spilling all in your bags. I’ve had this happen. ‘Tis no fun.

I found this tip on Pinterest and I give a tutorial on How to Pack Toiletries to Avoid Spills.

A natural way to clean your washing machine

I hate running in the store to buy one thing, so if I have the household items to take care of the job, I’ll definitely give it a try. I came upon this post when I got the urge to actually clean out my washing machine. Those things can get pretty disgusting and this trick worked like a charm and didn’t leave a horrid smell behind.

Homemade Shower Cleaner

This mixture is my go-to cleaner…and has been for the past 6 months. Cleaning the shower is the epitome of doing chores, so it makes things that more difficult when you can’t get the shower as clean as you would like. This mixture gets all of the caked on soap left behind off – and very well!

Freezer Meals

I began doing freezer meal planning in January and it has become a way of life for me. It’s so convenient bagging your meals ahead of time and letting them slow cook throughout the day. I’ve had more than 3 weeks worth of meals frozen at one time and it saves me so much time in the long run from having to prepare things after an hour and a half commute from work.
