There are times in life where I find myself in a lull or valley, trying to decipher through all of the mundane things what I want to focus on and do. Sometimes you can get wrapped up in the planning and strategizing and executing that you find that your activity doesn’t always equal the results you are ultimately seeking.

In one of my random scroll sessions through Instagram one day, I came across a photo of the book Make it Happen: Surrender Your Fear, Take the Leap. Live on Purpose by Lara Casey. Of course we all come across these self-help books that have the same jingle and tone, but this book was different. It speaks as a woman with flaws, hang ups, and imperfections. For the woman who wants more out of life than just “doing” and not being afraid of taking risks and choosing to make it.

Here’s an excerpt:

“Many of us fear that if we slow down even the tiniest big, we will no longer be productive. We fear our lives will be meaningless if we aren’t constantly striving for something bigger and better. Yet when we finally stop chasing those impossible standards and surrender our fears, we become truly productive in what matters. We experience genuine fulfillment: an imperfect yet intentional life, driven by a clear core purpose.”

I am only a few chapters in, but Lara Casey speaks directly to some of the daily issues that tend to creep up when you’re too busy being “busy” as women and help us to live on purpose & Make it Happen. Click here to read more.
