Usually around this time, my hair tends to perform much better than any other time of year. While most will favor warmer weather and high humidity, my most moisturized, tamed hair days are in the Fall & Winter. Go figure.

Atlanta is still confused if it wants to be hot or cold, but I’ve naturally made the switch to using products that give me the best results on the daily. This post will highlight the new items, with a quick reference to the items that are staples and I still use today.

Yes to Carrots Pampering Conditioner
How I use it: Co-Washing or Conditioning

Where have I been?! I have passed up buying this conditioner on numerous occasions only to find out it has a love affair with my hair. My hair instantly had amazing slip, which made it easy to detangle, and it made my hair feel like butter. After rinsing, it still felt that way. My hair is super dry during this time, so anything that adds softness and moisture – and for only $9 – is worth holding on to. This gem has been added to my staples of “Must-have Hair Products”.

Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Moisturizing Conditioner
How I use it: Deep Conditioning

Let me be real: I have never been a fan of this conditioner.

As a PJ, I read numerous raving reviews about this condish, so naturally I went out and bought it. When I used it, the conditioner was so THICK, I could hardly get it out of my hair. I didn’t feel a difference or change, so I politely put it in the back of my cabinet never to use again. Perfect example that everything does not work for everyone.

I really hate wasting money, so I did whatever I could to make myself like this conditioner. After months of trying, I figured if I thin it out with some water, it will make it less painful to use. I was right.

This conditioner (for me) was still had a thicker consistency, but it worked out well for deep conditioning under a steamer. My overall results have been the softness I need to make my hair manageable. I can say I’ve learned to like it.

Avocado & Wild Plum Twisting Cream
How I use it: Twist outs

This has been one of the best stylers I’ve stumbled across in a long time. I’m a huge fan of Darcy’s Natural Coils Curling Jelly [See my results with it from last Fall here], so I figured I’d give this cream a try. I’m so happy I did. My hair has never been thankful. The cream is not heavy and greasy and gave me the best twist outs I’ve ever had.

Original Moxie Hair Bling High Shine Pomade
How I use it: Take down braidouts or twistouts

This pomade is made of mango butter, which is typically heavy. However it’s very moisturizing and just enough to help take down my twists or plaits in the mornings. With this, a little goes a LONG way. I especially love rubbing this on my ends, as it gives it a nice shine and moisturizes the curl.

What I’m still using:
Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie
Kinky-Curly Knot Today
Coconut Oil
