There’s an unwritten rule which [unofficially] states, “There are two things you should refrain from conversing about in public: religion and politics.” Everyone has a set of morals, values, and guidelines they abide by which may not align with the next person’s. That’s understandable. However, I do believe that everyone should be informed about who they are voting for and why.
I’m not trying to get political on you all. Trust me. I’ve built BB to be a platform to speak my opinion and voice to all. 🙂
As transparent as I can be, let me say this: I am, in no way, endorsing any of the two candidates on this blog – point blank. To take that statement even further, this isn’t to persuade you to vote for one or the other. What am I saying? As a citizen, it is your duty to not only vote, but know what you’re voting for. There are so many issues of the day that we face and it’s easy to get caught up in the analytics and opinions of the vast communicative platforms. However, I can tell you that being informed about issues that makes the world go ‘round or could potentially stops it from spinning on its axis is always in season! If we can sit and dissect the hottest trends in fashion, if we can break down the minutia of the materials used to produce an iPhone before it even hits the shelves, or be in the know of all the hottest celebrity gossip, then it’s nothing to apply these same strategies to what’s going on in the country.
For me, I’m personally trying to understand the platforms of both candidates. I want to know! Rather than make this a popularity contest or turn this into the latest high school scandal, I want to be able to digest it without influence. It’s great to see polls, but they only prove to be a snapshot in time. It’s never a true representation of the entire voice of the people. When it all comes down to it, I want to make sure I’m set and ready to know when I cast my vote for either candidate, I’m doing so with an interconnected understanding of how the policies I’m voting for will benefit me as an American, as well as the country.
Whoever you choose means nothing unless you register to vote in your state, take the time to understand everything they are proposing, and you take the time to go vote.
Word to Big Bird.
This article written is strictly my personal opinions on the actions that should be taken by our country’s citizens. Again, I am, in no way, writing to persuade any readers to vote for either candidate.
