Understandably my senses are heightened for all things Fall-related during this time of year, even food, but my thermometer always finds a kind way to nudge me and remind me that we are in the dead middle of summer.
For those that are still enjoying the humid temps and sparkling ocean or pool to swim in, there’s still time to enjoy a cute & fruity frozen one. For me, I like to find recipes that are easy to follow, simple to make, and delicious in taste. That said, I decided to try this recipe for grapefruit smoothies {which looks like Heaven in a cup}, but with a twist.
What I used:
1 Organic Ruby Red Grapefruit
1 Organic Banana
1 cup of frozen strawberries
1 tsp. of honey {to taste}
1/2 cup of Organic OJ
1/4 cup of vanilla almond milk
-Peel grapefruit and cut into slices, removing seeds
-Cut all fruits into smaller pieces {for a more even blend}
-Toss in other ingredients
-Blend and enjoy
I’m not the biggest fan of Greek yogurt for its thick consistency & I didn’t want to use vanilla extract, so I opted for vanilla almond milk instead. It didn’t stop the show. It was delicious!
