This past Monday, I had the pleasure of attending the event Better Blogs & Brands: A Vision Board Workshop hosted by Mattie of Mattieologie and Tasha of Imperfect Concepts Boutique. I was invited by my Soror and fellow blogger, Alexis of Sassy, yet Simple Styling for a little networking and bonding time. After the event, I found myself encouraged, enlightened, and energized to not only become a better blogger, but just a better woman in general.

There were about 20 ladies and 1 gentleman in attendance and everyone was eager to share their inspiration on becoming a better blogger. Some had been bloggers for years, some for only a few weeks, and some did not have blogs at all! The atmosphere was full of positivity and creativity, a scene set and ready to create your vision!  Mattie and Tasha gave some great insight of how they got started, having their own businesses, fantastic books to read to inspire, and how to set goals for your blog.  The coolest thing about this event was that a majority of the women in attendance are wives, mothers, corporate workers, and a laundry list of other hats they wear everyday and still make time to follow their dreams!!

Although I didn’t get a full board created, I at least got it started! 🙂 Here are some highlights of the evening:

Stacks of mags to get the creative juices flowing.

Getting my vision board started!

I had an absolute ball and have already begun implementing some of the great information that was shared!

I’ll be sure to share my board when I am finished!

This post is a winner! Last year I vowed to create a vision board for myself starting this year so that I could SEE my goals as opposed to writing them down. Like you, I have started but not yet completed my board. Hopefully so before next week. This made me that much more excited to get it done. Good luck with yours!

That’s so awesome, Raquhel! The last one I did was 3 years ago and it’s hanging in my office. Some of those dreams I already accomplished!! 🙂

Thanks for the encouragement! I have to knuckle back and get ‘er done, as well!! Keep it up!

  • Hey LaTisha!

Thanks so much for coming out. I’m so glad you were inspired. This is such a great post. I love the “Blogs I Follow & Like” notebook. So. Friggin’. Cute.

With the time allotted, we imagined not many would finish their vision but at least get started. In most instances, the hardest part is starting. But always remember:

    “Believe. Begin. Become.”

  • Love your recap of the event! So nice to connect with you!!!
