On my honeymoon, I had this papaya smoothie that was pretty good.  I won’t say it was the best ever, but it satisfied the urge for something healthy.  So as I was grocery shopping yesterday, I came across some papaya in the produce section and decided to buy.  Mind you, I’ve never bought papayas before, but I love trying new things.  Last night I chopped the papaya into chunks and put it in the fridge overnight.
Today for lunch, I decided to make a smoothie with my Boca Burger™ burger to see how it would turn out.
Here’s what I used:
Fresh strawberries (for presentation purposes – see below)
Freshly, cut papaya
Honey and Sprite™
In a blender container, mix chunks of papaya and honey together.  The honey gives it a little sweetness without having to add sugar.
Add a little Sprite™
Top with crushed ice*
*Note: I like to use crushed vs. cubed so it will have a better chance of blending together instead of leaving chunks of ice in your smoothie.

**If you are using a regular blender, proceed to put ice in first so it sits on the bottom of blender.  This illustration shows the blending cup upside down**
Shake it around to mix.  The honey may stick – this is okay.
Blend together.  Notice my cup is not right side up, putting the ice the bottom of the blender.
Serve chilled, paired with a pretty strawberry on top (or an umbrella for decoration)

This smoothie is really good and easy to make.  It’s a great summer smoothie that’s light and sweet.  Pair it with your favorite summer salad or have a cup at the pool. It’ll definitely come in handy with the hot days ahead.
