If you’re reading the title and thinking I’ve lost my mind, I haven’t. One of the times of the year that tickles me (and semi-annoys me) is New Years. No matter where you go or turn, people proclaim their new attitudes, starting that new goal, or taking some drastic measure to prove that it’s a “new year, new them”. Yeah right.
This happens days after the Christmas presents are opened and at least a week after the new year is here. Now that we’re about to step into the 2nd half of this year, and clearly no one is thinking about what they promised to do. Question is: Have you tackled any of the goals and promises this year?
Although I don’t commit myself to “resolutions”, I definitely set goals to achieve to expand myself, which allows yourself to grow (See my declaration here). Earlier this month, I took a good look on my “gps”, bka the list of goals, and realized I’m right on track and staying focused on doing the things which make me happy. I’ve joined the step team for my chapter (award-winning team, to be exact), achieved hair goals while others complain it would be too hard to do, landed a position that allows me to work in social media and marketing full-time, and visiting two countries this Summer. And that’s not even everything.
My challenge to everyone is to check their “gps” and make sure they are on the right path and roadmap they proclaimed to follow at the beginning of the year. Let’s continue to be better, not because it’s a new year, but it’s the right thing to do.
