Over my 10 year span of doing makeup, I’ve met a lot of women! As with any job, after you’ve done something long enough, you begin to see the commonality in it. Often times, I can talk to a client for about 10 mins and in my mind, I can conclude what sign they are. Women are often shocked that I can do that. About 85% of the time I’m right :)! Confirming their sign tells me how to approach their makeup application. And of course, there’s always exceptions to the rules. So all in fun, here’s my breakdown of what your zodiac sign says about your makeup! Enjoy!
Aries: (Lady GaGa, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey) Star of the show. Perfectionist. They will stand out in the crowd. These attention lovers don’t mind committing to the process of beauty. Whatever it takes! They don’t mind splurging on what they want either. Glamour Queen is the Arian woman. Beat them for the Gawds!
Taurus: (Adele, Kelly Clarkson) Taurus women are the Queens of a “Signature Look”. They are the women that every time you see them, they look great! But its pretty much the same every time. They’ve worn “that lipstick” for 10 years now and that’s the only thing they buy. But ensure that it is applied meticulously. Don’t confuse their habits with laziness. They are all about details, some may even call them picky. Makeup becomes a part of their daily routine. More than likely, you won’t catch them without it.
Gemini: (Angelina Jolie, Mary Kate and Ashley, Iggy Azalea) Twinsies can be slightly lazy when it comes to make up. They are certainly not the girls who spend hours in a mirror getting the perfect cat eye! They are the ones you see putting on makeup in the car at the stop light, unless they have someone who will do it for them. But it all balances out with their spontaneity. They are never afraid to try new things! New colors? New products? They’ll be game for trying it. But keep it cost friendly. Makeup doesn’t tend to be something they are willing to splurge on.
Cancer: (Khloe Kardashian) Cancers are what I call “The Dolly Parton’s of the Zodiac!” They are epitome of prissy and girly! They almost always tend to love pink and sparkles. And when it comes to makeup, the more the better! They are not afraid of looking like they have makeup on and they are product junkies! They love researching and trying out something new. But they are natural skeptics, so they will ask any salesperson a ton of questions.
Leo: (J. Lo, Kylie Jenner) Leo women tend to be the type that wants to look drop dead gorgeous! But they don’t want to admit that’s how they want to look. Lionesses are proud. And they do care about their appearance, but they don’t want anyone to think they tried hard to get there, whether they did or not. Leos play nice, but rest assured they know exactly how they want to look. Sell them products, they may try them, but will return them if it doesn’t meet expectations.
Virgo: (Beyonce) It’s all about appearances with Virgos! No matter how tired, run down or depressed they may feel, they want to appear perfect. Virgos are the girls who said they’d be ready 30 minutes ago. They will take all the time and products necessary to “Get the look”. Beyonce singing “I woke up like this” is classic Virgo. They definitely want you to believe that! And would absolutely cringe if you saw them undone.
Libra: (Kim Kardashian West) Libra women will go to the lengths to be pretty. Similar to Cancers, they don’t mind a little makeup! Although, their motivation is a little more extroverted than their crabby counterparts. Libras love beauty and love to appear beautiful! So contour them, highlight them, and give them lashes! But make it look effortless. Do whatever is necessary to make them a vision! Libras are also extremely opinionated and decisive. They will tell you exactly what they want. You can show them another product, it will only frustrate them. They told you what they wanted the first time.
Scorpio: (Kendall Jenner, Katy Perry) Probably the least fussy when it comes to makeup. Often times, they could care less about it. If someone wants to do it and it’s not conflicting with any other plans? Sure. Or if they know other people are going to be all made up, they’ll go for it. But these are traditionally your mascara and gloss girls, if anything at all.
Sagittarius: (Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus) Similar to Virgos in terms of wanting it to appear perfect. Sag’s can be routine as well. Since they have very compartmentalized minds, every product must have a function. They use “this concealer” for the dark circles no one sees but them and “this lipstick” because the ingredients are better for their skin type. They are into labels too. Only the best for a Sag. Research and investment is the strategy for this subtle and intentional sign.
Capricorn: (Michelle Obama) Capricorn women are typically analytical with makeup. They are the type that go to a makeup counter sit down and listen to exactly what you say. Show them techniques and they will purchase almost everything you showed them. They have an appreciation for it, but are not the best with execution. They tend to like to experiment with color too. They just want to look appropriate for the occasion. I call them the tomboys of the Zodiac.
Aquarius: (Oprah) Now you want to talk about details? Aquarians are into textures, colors and placement. That lipstick is not just pink, it’s fuchsia! Well what kind of foundation is it? Does it have a matte finish or demi matte? They notice the things that most of us don’t pay attention to. These are the girls with amazing makeup kits, completely organized and color coordinated. And all the brushes to go with!
Pisces: (Rihanna, Erykah Badu) Pisces are weird when it comes to makeup because they could honestly care less about it, but they definitely want to look amazing! Pisceans are more so event driven when it comes to appearances. If they don’t have something important to do, you probably won’t find them with a stitch of makeup on their face. They are the type that prefers to go to someone they trust and just let them do their thing. When shopping for makeup, they have a vision. It’s never just makeup, it’s part of their vision to complete the look. It’s all about the fantasy for Pisces. And they love to switch it up! Completely done one day and barely there the next? Just depends on what mood the fish is in.
