Never mind that the time has changed and the groundhog saw its shadow; my face is usually the first to tell me the seasons are changing. I have been blessed with sensitive, combination skin and my face is very active in telling me if it likes something I’m doing or not.
Since I’ve joined the dirty thirty club, I’ve been on a mission to take better care of my skin. Cheap isn’t always better and expensive doesn’t mean quality; it’s all based on my goals and what I’m going for. In the last week, I have changed some things, and added some back, when it comes to my regimen. Here are some items worth noting.
Dermalogica Pre Cleanse
I was introduced to this oil 2 years ago during a facial and I was hooked. I just got back on the wagon again and I’m just as in awe with the results as I was on day 1. I use the pre-cleanse before washing my face, tackling all of the oil and dirt that I’ve acquired on my face throughout the day. According to their site:
PreCleanse thoroughly melts away layers of excess sebum (oil), sunscreen, waterproof make-up, pollutants and products that build up on skin
My face instantly feels super soft. From here, it’s time to wash.
Purpose Face Wash
Although my skin is pretty sensitive, I can’t stand a face wash that leaves my face feeling slimy. Most sensitive skin face washes don’t include the harsh soaps, which is great, but it leaves me feeling like I never washed in the first place. Purpose was the answer to my problems. It’s a face wash that’s
· Gentle
· Removes Makeup
· Cleans Thoroughly
· Doesn’t contain harsh soaps
I use this with my Clarisonic Mia 2, which makes for a match made in beauty care Heaven.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery
I am a HUGE fan of this oil by Kiehl’s. My face has never felt smoother and softer, ever! I use a few drops of this oil on my face after washing, before moisturizing. This oil is especially kind to those of us with sensitive skin.
Regenerates, repairs, and replenishes skin for smoother, healthier skin
Works with the skin’s natural nocturnal activity – when skin is most receptive to repairing itself from daily aggressors – to dramatically restore skin
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye
If you want eyes that are moisturized throughout the night and in the morning, this cream is your best bet. I’ve suffered with allergies all of my life and my eyes have always been the prime target for itching. So now that I’m older and I know that rubbing my eyes causes more damage than a few seconds of relief, I’ve gotten smarter about moisturizing my eyes to combat dark circles. This cream is also exquisite when it comes to sensitive eyes.
Oil of Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Tone Correcting Night Moisturizer
I love a good moisturizer that has several jobs in one to take care of other skin issues throughout the night. This cream is smooth and doesn’t take a lot to preserve the sexy!
