The Fourth of July is a fun and festive time to get creative with all things red, white, and blue. While I’m typically fashion-focused, I thought it’d be a fun spin to share some great drink recipes that’s sure be a hit at the party.
Take a look and drink responsibly!
What You’ll Need:
- Small ice cubes
- 1/4 cup blackberries, plus 1 blackberry for garnish
- 2 tablespoons mint leaves, plus 1 mint sprig for garnish
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 1/2 ounces bourbon
Fill a rocks glass halfway with ice cubes. In a shaker, combine the 1/4 cup of blackberries, mint leaves, sugar, bourbon and 1/3 cup of ice cubes and shake well. Strain the drink into the glass through a coarse sieve, pressing on the solids. Garnish with the blackberry and mint sprig.
Grey Goose La Poire American Dream

What You’ll Need:
- 2 parts Grey Goose La Poire Flavored Vodka
- Crushed ice
- 1/2 part Cointreau
- 1/2 part Maraschino Liqueur
- 1 part fresh lime juice
- Dash of grenadine
- Fresh mint for garnish
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, and add vodka, liqueurs and lime juice.
Shake well and strain into rocks glass filled with crushed ice.
Top with grenadine and garnish with fresh mint
What You’ll Need:
- Fresh strawberries
- Fresh blueberries
- Fresh blackberries
Freeze fruit in ice cube tray
Serve with Sprite
What You’ll Need:
- Red fruit punch or juice (i.e. cranberry juice)
- Blue Gatorade
- Diet 7Up, Sprite, or other clear soda
Please note: It is important to use a diet, sugar free soda so that least one of your layers has little or no sugar. Pour the beverage with the most sugar first (so that it’s on the bottom) and the beverage with the least sugar last (so that it’s on the top).
Pour equal amounts of all of the beverages to create a colorful, layered glass or pitcher.
Add the ice is after you’ve added the second layer and before you’ve added the third layer.
Happy Independence Day!
