It’s Friday night and the weekend’s here. You need to unwind with a party…Mr. DJ. So you’ve dusted off the stilettos, steamed a spicy little number, and you’re about to make sure the face is beat – but what about the lips? I recommend adding a little sweetness to your spicy number with a berry/wine shade of lipstick.
In the past month, I’ve purchased four different lipsticks in berry/wine shades and it’s almost addicting. I am not a fan of my lips looking dark whatsoever. However my reluctance changed at first swipe. I’ve been hooked ever since! Today I’m going to share these four that have changed my perspective, as each shade, different as they may be, serves as the “perfect shade” in my eyes.

Wet & Wild’s ‘Black Orchid’: Do NOT sleep on Wet & Wild! This was the first of the darker lip colors I bought & I was so impressed. The color had a reddish undertone and it applied so easily. I was more impressed with the color than when I bought it. This one is definitely a keeper!
Mac lipstick in ‘Rebel’: I love this color. It is super rich & the texture of the lipstick is moisturizing. A+! Although it looks a little dark in the tube, it has a little pinkish undertone to it, which takes it to a dark fuschia/berry color. #win
Ka’oir Cosmetics lipstick in ‘Sex’: Shout out to Keyshia Ka’oir for making such a dope product! Hey there #KaoirDolls! This is my 2nd tube of lipstick I’ve purchased and I am still sat-is-fied {See my first review here}. This color is not for the conservative or the weak. Strap up your boots girls because it is a rich burgundy color that brings out the daring side in you. It definitely lives up to its name! You won’t be disappointed with this one.
Mac lipstick in ‘Cyber’ This color is a DEEEEEEEEEEEP plummy plum. Honestly, I did not like it when I initially put it on. The sales girl told me to try it, but mentioned she didn’t like it. Odd. So I tried it on and immediately said, “Nope.” However, she mentioned she had a trick that makes her like it and asked me to give it a try. She applied the lipstick, then topped it with the Dazzleglass lipgloss in ‘Date Night’. When she was done, it made my heart melt. I was in LOVE – and I bought both lipstick and gloss.
This color combo is also great if you want something similar to Mac’s ‘Yung Rupunxel’, which is sold out.
