That’s my motto.  I’m sticking to it.

I giggle every time I see this picture.  Other than the fact that my hair was all over my head that day, but of the newest addition I had added to my lengthy collection of accessories – the glasses.  Even though I’m all about fashionable accessories, these are real! Let me tell you how I obtained them.

I’ve always had great vision (and big, brown eyes to add to it – lol).  Usually when I get check ups, I get my eyes checked and I’m always good to go.  Slowly over time, I’ve noticed that it takes me a second or two to focus some.  Not to where everything is a blur, but not as sharp as it could be.  Then over time I begin noticing that one eye was definitely less focused than the other.  No biggie. I had great vision overall!

I decided one day when I was off from work to have my eyes checked. No big deal. “I’ll be in and out“, I told myself.  Well to make a long story short, a sister was picking out glasses by the end of the appointment – an hour later!  The funny part you ask?  Reading that eye chart during a physical does not count as having your eyes checked (one) and therefore I was quite overdue when I got these.  To make matters worse, the last time I even remember having a real check up by a doctor was when the Spice Girls had just found fame and it was still the 20th century (two).  >insert rip, roaring laughter here<  When I sent my mom and picture with the caption “Mom, I look like a geek!”, she replied, “Yes you do! LOL”.

All in all, I’m actually getting used to them.  Juicy Couture had a fantastic range of chic specs to pick from so it made swallowing the fact that I, indeed, needed them after all a little less painful.  Looking like a geek doesn’t look so bad after all.
