Hey there, friends. Book nerd here and still proud to wear the badge of honor. Maybe it was because my mom used to read to me at night. Perhaps it was because in order to get that free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut back in the days when “Book It” was around, I became such a lover of reading!

Long gone are my days of reading Goosebumps – shoot, long gone are the days when I can sit down and actually READ a book. I talk about the reason I switched to audio books instead in this season of life in this post. Nevertheless, I do not let that deter me away from reading books all year.

2019 I had the chance to listen to some AH-MAZING books and I’m here to share with you. You will be enlightened. You will be excited. You will be triggered. Yep. It’s all a good kick in the rear (or face) that’s needed to make sure you get your butt in gear this year.

Here are my fave 5 and why.

Take Control of Your Life: How to Silence Fear & Win the Mental Game by Mel Robbins

This entire book triggered me. Scratch that. The sections I most certainly identified with made me CRY. It struck a nerveeeeee within me. Honey, Mel Robbins plays no games. She is not here for beating around the bush and getting to the root of your fears. This book was so different than any other of the “self help” books you would find on the shelves. She actually has practical tips for you to actually identify things AS they are happening. It’s a great read. Get it.

Everything is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo

The book in a nutshell: stop making everything so HARD and figure it out. In an age where we have the most information at our fingertips we still find every excuse not to figure something out. Such good reminder…and read.

Believe Bigger: Discover the Path to Your Life Purpose by Marshawn Evans Daniels

Poised, polished and precisely what we girls need to hear, Marshawn does a great job with sharing her story about believing bigger. As women, we are told to not be too much, too loud, to extravagant…play it small. But what if those very qualities people criticize are meant to fulfill the purpose God has for your life?

Manifest Now by Idil Ahmed

This book here. Girl! This book came recommended by a podcast that I listen to and man it delivers. Idil does such a great job with showing us and sharing with us tips on how to manifest the life you want. Nothing fluffy. Great tactics and tips. I’ve listened to it TWICE now.

Girl, Stop Apologizing: A Shame-Free Plan for Embracing and Achieving Your Goals by Rachel Hollis

Rachel – the GOAT. Rachel comes back with her 2nd book Girl, Stop Apologizing and this sister gives it to you raw and real. I love how she shares her stories, failures, shortcomings and how she’s turned that into actions that she can actually use to propel her forward. Sorry, not sorry.
